Beautiful, scenic skies over Town Beach at Tenby today.

Picton Castle Gardens
After all the wintry weather we have been (and still are) having, it is good to see that spring is just beginning to show her face in the Gardens. We met with members of the Garden Club and the Head Gardener, Roddy, for a walk around to see what was coming to life.
Some Recent Local Walks
We went walking with some visiting friends to Freshwater East, Lydstep Head
and Castlemartin recently.

SNOW!!
I know you have seen it all before, but we were away during the Big Freeze, so it is all a novelty to us. We had quite a blizzard as we drove out in the car to collect our motorhome from her MoT this morning. However, when we walked in to the village to get some shopping it cleared for bit and looked quite picturesque.

Holiday - Snorkelling at El Cotillo
I always take my snorkel with me when we go to Fuerteventura. Our favourite area to visit is El Cotillo and the lagoons, on the north west coast of the island. This year the water was glass-clear and I had a wonderful time swimming and snorkelling. Then I remembered that my little digital camera could take photos under water!! The following are the results :-
bright yellow eye surrounds
give a sharp nip on my ankles if I didn't watch out!
More of the pretty bream plus one or two other species.

When I got this on the computer I found I had a mysterious visitor.Look in the left hand corner. Can anyone tell me what it is? Doesn't look like an octopus tentacle, but might be a water snake. These 'fairy-like' silver fish were everywhere and these were
around our feet in the warm tidal pools at about 6/8 inches deep.
Magical! Everyone should snorkel in shallow water.

Return from Holiday - Happy New Year!
In case you're wondering where I have been, its very simple. We have been on holiday in the sun, sea and sand and warmth of Fuerteventura, while you have all been playing in the snow! We had a rude awakening on our return to pick up the car after, like so many others, our flight had been delayed by 7 hours!

Short Mat Bowls
We have spent our day short mat bowling in the Pembrokeshire Short Mat Bowls Annual Rinks Competition (a fours competition) for The South Pembrokeshire Shield, at Heatherton http://www.heatherton.co.uk/ . We put our short mats down on the main long mat indoor rink there and had eight mats out today.
Our team, from Llanteg, won the first match of our three, but then lost the other two and so did not progress on to the second round. We played (nearly) our best, but it was not good enough as there were some very good players attending today. So it was an early bath for us! Our next Heatherton competition will be the Annual Open Pairs Competition for The Joan Proctor Memorial Shield in December.
