One of Those Days!

1. You get up an hour late!
~
2. Its another of those dank, wet, drizzly days!
~
3. The workman brings his bill to be paid - its a three figure sum.
~
4. Just to get out, you go to the supermarket, get inside and find you have the only trolley with one stuck wheel (all the free-wheeling new ones have gone!). Go round, pushing the trolley sideways and with a right hand swerve, and fill the trolley up for the coming week.
~
5. Get to the check-out and finally notice the signs - which are actually all over the shop - saying "apologies, but our card machines are not working properly and may not work over £50 - cash only please". Realise you will have to go outside the shop to the cashpoint if your card won't work (as will the lady behind you). Thankfully the card is accepted.
~
6. Stagger outside with defunct trolley to find that the usual downhill, easy route to the car park is closed off. There is some guttering above the shop facade 'about to fall down at any minute'. So the route is now out of shop door, turn right, then left along pavement in front of shop, then left again past disabled parking area ... By this time the trolley is all over the place, it can't cope either. A lady accused me of 'not being a good driver' of the trolley (cheek! I'm a member of the IAM!). Anyway she saw I was in trouble and the two of us manhandled the thing halfway across the car park, where she left me to go to her own car and I zig-zagged my way across to the car. Of course then I had to turn round and push the ruddy thing back across the whole car park to the trolley bay. At least it was a bit easier with an empty trolley!
~
7. Drive home in the murk and stagger indoors with the heavy bags. Other Half says 'hurry up we don't want to be late!'. We have a meeting in half an hour!
~
Don't you just love days like that?
~
Looking forward to things to come.
~
Hope your day is good.

Days like this always occur on mondays when you don't even have the weekend to look forward to!
