On Saturday ...

First trip of the year to our favourite Gardens at Picton Castle. They were amazing.
Wonderful tree peonies.
Dragonflies mating on the lilies in the Walled Garden.
Hundreds of tadpoles in the sunny corners of the Walled Garden pond.
This flower was something I have never seen before, but I forgot to make a note of what it is.The main entrance to the house.
Wonderful azaleas and rhododendrons everywhere.
So delicate, especially with the raindrops after a shower of rain.
Wild garlic, smelling wonderful.
A lovely start to our weekend.

I just love the smell of wild garlic :)

That blue flower is very pretty, I wonder what it is!

The blue flower is a Meconopsis- Himalyan poppy, likes damp shady areas. Love your blog

Thanks for the info on the himalayan poppy K&amp. It is a most unusual flower and it would grow well in our garden which has a lot of damp shady areas! Ann

There was so much wild garlic about when I went back to my parents' in South Wales recently. My small boys are obviously hardened city types - or perhaps just enjoy bellowing 'Pooo!' at the top of their voices. Hmm, yes probably the latter.

I'd love to have chickens, but too many foxes round here - so many in urban London and they're not scared of people in the slightest.
