Godolphin House

I love visiting National Trust properties, so did not miss the opportunity to go to Godolphin House near Helston while I was down in Cornwall. This is a fairly new acquisition by the National Trust and you can read about it if you click on the above link.
~
It is just coming to the end of a massive restoration project and is only open occasionally as the rest of the time it will be used for holidays. It has sleeping for 12 persons. Not cheap, but what a wonderful setting to spend time in.
~
All mod cons now provided for guests. To my mind they have integrated the modern amenities into this wonderful building very well indeed.
~
For once we were allowed to sit on the furniture and take photographs.
~
The house was used in the 1970s for the filming of the Poldark series.
Unfortunately it was a very dull day when we visited, so my photos do not do it justice.
They have not done a lot to the gardens as yet, but they will be worth a visit in the future.

English Heritage have some great places to stay, as well.

I love visiting National Trust properties too! We've been members now for quite a few years. I must say we haven't been to any of the ones in Cornwall, yet. But we haven't been down there for a few years. Time for a visit I think.
Lovely pictures.
Best wishes Linda
